Experts warned about the problem in education: “The good news gets lost”

“In 35 years, we missed the chance to build a society that would respect science and value hard work. If most of society were like that, the school would not have to fight for prestige with blood. Every capricious citizen who comes along, without competence, should not be telling a teacher, a professional in that field, how they should do their job,” said Irena Baranauskienė, founder and CEO of the private Saulė Gymnasium.

At the beginning of March, the news portal Lrytas hosted the largest education forum in Lithuania, “The Code of Education,” where, in the discussion “Who Shapes the School’s Image? The Leader’s Voice, the Media and Society,” thoughts were shared about the current state of education.

During the discussion, the idea came up that there is a little too little talk about the school, education, image, and how it could be changed, so with experts and professionals they discussed not only what the situation is now, but also what can be done to change the outcome.
